Habits of mind are series of responses to questions and problems in which the brain cannot respond due to the fact or it not knowing and immediate answer. Employing these habits require many skills and or past experience. There are about 16 forms of elaborated attributes of humans when they behave intelligently, but are more well known and referred to as the habits of mind. By all means, do not get the impression that there are only a total of 16 habits of mind because there is more.
The Habits of Mind, in the article I read, range from "Striving for Accuracy or Precision" to "Taking Responsible Risks". The one that got my attention would have to have been "Finding Humor". I decided to write about finding humor because I find myself funny at times. In other words this relates to me unlike most of the other habits of mind. According to the article, laughter is good to the body believe it or not, it drops pulse rate, the secretion of endorphins, and an increased of oxygen in the blood. Not everyone has a sense of humor, some people are always serious and or don’t find most things funny as others would. Finding humor relates to me in many ways, weather in a conversation, at work, or writing poems, my humor shows in everything I do. The only thing wrong with humor is when jokes/pranks and such are played on people who don’t play much or at times when needing to act serious. Some people don’t know how to control themselves nor no when the time is right. For example, some people find ineptitude, injurious behavior, vulgarity, violence and profanity funny as others don’t. I feel that if you are unable to take a joke then you should tell them. In conclusion, humor is almost depends on the beholder, be careful when using humor not to offend people because of there race, language, skin, hair, height or anything that can hurt there feelings, because then its not funny anymore.
